• Three independent marriage-index sources agree on the 1891 marriage; a FamilySearch birth-index entry names both parents, matching Clyde's exact birth date (20 Apr 1894, Brownfield, Pope Co. IL)
• Both dead by ~1894-1900. All 4 children were orphaned, split among Glass relatives per the 1900 census
• Previously recorded, in error, as "Charles Ellis & Mary Trevellian Ellis" per Clyde's 1971 SC death certificate/obituary. This was a mistaken memory by informant Glenn C. • Genuine dead end: Carl Herman's own FamilySearch tree profile carries only 2 thin sources, no birth/death year, no parents. A promising looking "1929 death" source attached to his profile turned out to be Louisa's own death record merely naming him as next of kin, not his own death. Nothing further to chase without a new lead (a specific town, a sibling's record)
