Privacy and Analytics Notice

This page explains, in plain language, how this website uses analytics tools to understand visitor behavior, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. It does not cover how we handle the family history information you share with us once you become a client. That commitment is described below and, in full, in your engagement agreement.
What we collect
When you visit this site, our analytics tools may record:
- Behavioral metrics. Pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, and which links or buttons you interact with.
- Heatmaps. Aggregated visual summaries of where visitors click, tap, and scroll on a page.
- Session replay. A reconstruction of a single visit's on-page activity (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling), used to understand how the site is actually used.
- Interaction events. Specific actions we track by name, such as starting the request form, viewing the pricing section, or clicking a phone number.
We do not collect payment information, passwords, or account credentials for any genealogy site or other account through this site's analytics tools, and we never ask for them.
The tools we use

Form inputs are masked
The request form on this site is configured with input masking. What you type into name, email, phone, and message fields is not captured by Microsoft Clarity, and nothing you type is intentionally sent to any analytics provider. Analytics tools on this site observe how the page is used, not the content of what you write.
Cookies and identifiers
Microsoft Clarity runs in cookieless mode by default on this site. Rather than setting a cookie to recognize you across visits, it assigns a temporary identifier scoped to a single page view unless a future consent mechanism changes that setting.
Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel use their own standard cookies and identifiers to distinguish visits and, for Meta, to support ad measurement. You can control or block these through your browser (see Your choices, below).
Why we do this
We use this data to improve the site itself: finding where visitors get confused or drop off, diagnosing broken pages or forms, and understanding whether the ads we run are reaching people who actually want this service. We do not sell visitor data, and we do not use it to make decisions about any individual visitor.
Your family's research data
The analytics on this website are separate from how we handle your family's history once you're a client. That commitment, unchanged: nothing about your family is published, shared, or used outside your engagement without your explicit permission, and living relatives are not included in anything published. We also never ask for or accept your login for any genealogy site, or any other account credentials.
Data retention
Each provider sets its own retention period, stated here as each currently publishes it:

Your choices
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and many offer a "do not track" or tracking protection setting.
- Browser extensions can block analytics scripts like Clarity, GA4, and the Meta Pixel outright.
- Because Clarity runs cookieless here by default, it does not persist an identifier across your visits unless that changes in the future.
